A George III Period Mahogany Antique bookcase on chest. The upper section having a dentil moulded cornice above twin astragal glazed doors opening to reveal an adjustable shelved interior. The lower section having an arrangement of two short over four long graduating oak lined drawers each retaining their original water gilded brass swan neck handles, raised on a shaped plinth circa 1780. Please note that this bookcase is of unusually slim but tall proportions and would originally of been fitted into an alcove. The top 6" from each side have been re-veneered and the left and right ends of the cornice are later replacements, (see pictures), otherwise the bookcase is in original condition and of wonderful colour and patination, fully cleaned and waxed.
