An 18th Century Continental figured mahogany antique linen press. The upper section having a dentil moulded cornice above twin panelled doors with stunning figured mahogany veneers. With applied geometric beading and four carved floral appliques. The doors opening to reveal two oak shelves and two small drawers. The lower section again with figured mahogany veneers to the graduating oak lined drawers, each having octagonal brass back plate handles, raised on square tapering mahogany supports terminating in a ball feet and with bracket feet to the rear. A wonderful colour and patination throughout, probably Dutch circa 1790-1800
Condition: This press is in excellent original condition. Minor shrinkage crack to the sides commensurate with age and period. The drawers with later replacement escutcheons, two dentils absent from the cornice ends. Fully cleaned and waxed. A beautiful colour and patination.
