A set of 8 George III Period mahogany Chippendale dining chairs including two carver armchairs. Each chair having typical Chippendale pierced fretwork interlaced back splats, above a drop in rectangular seat upholstered in a Zoffany silk fabric, raised on square chamfered supports united by H stretchers with brass and porcelain castor's. The two carver chairs having open swept arms, circa 1770-1780
Condition: This set of chairs are in excellent overall condition, a lovely Cuban mahogany. The back splat of one carver chair has been repaired and is of a slightly darker colour. One top rail from a stand chair has been replaced (quite a while ago) and the castor's are a later addition to raise the height.
