An Arts & Crafts Period Oak Writing Desk By Shapland & Petter Of Barnstaple C1900-1910

42" wide x 23" deep x 39" high (knee hole 25" high x 18" wide)

 An arts & crafts period oak writing desk by Shapland & Petter of Barnstaple. Having a raised shaped back with a spindled gallery above the solid quarter sawn oak top. Having an inset black blind and gilt tooled leather writing surface above a rectangular mahogany lined frieze drawer. Having a further three mahogany lined drawers each retaining their original stylish arts & crafts handles to the right hand side, with the left hand side having a pull out oak slide. The whole raised on six typical Shapland & Petter designed square tapering supports. Stamped S & P, B to the locks. Constructed using the finest quarter sawn oak throughout as you would expect from this premier cabinet maker. English circa 1900-1910

Condition: This desk is in excellent conditon, cleaned and waxed. Replacement leather writing surface.
