A Lovely Set of six Regency Period Goncalo Alves dining chairs possibly by Gillows of Lancaster. The shaped top rail having carved detail with a central back rest having further carved detail, above a square caned seat supported on turned front legs and with a sabre back leg. The chairs have beige velour detachable seat cushions which thread through the gaps in the seat rails, these chairs are of a known Gillows design and the use of Goncalo Alves would lead us to believe that they were made by Gillows although they are not marked Circa 1830-1840
Condition: Excellent, one back rail had minor repair
