A Stunning quality Late Victorian mahogany marquetry inlaid antique writing desk, the rectangular top having an inverted breakfront, retaining the original Moroccan red leather gilt tooled writing surface, having satinwood cross banded decoration with ebony and boxwood inlaid detail, the graduating mahogany lined drawers profusely inlaid with the finest marquetry inlaid decoration depicting flowing marquetry floral garlands, again cross banded in satinwood with ebony line inlaid detail, also having superb water gilded brass handles and the original London made brass locks complete with working key. The internal and external panels are in beautiful fiddle back mahogany, having satinwood cross banding, the external panels having central marquetry laurel leaf decoration centred by a floral paterae, the whole supported on splayed mahogany supports circa 1890-1900 Condition: This desk is in stunning excellent condition, minor discolouration and stains to the original leather writing surface
