48" wide x 24" deep x 40" high (30" high to Writing Surface) (Knee hole 24" high)

An Edwardian Period mahogany desk by Shapland & Petter Of Barnstaple, this Carlton House Style desk having a raised inlaid gallery above an arrangement of drawers, cupboards and pigeon holes, all mahogany lined throughout. The lower section retaining the original green leather writing surface above the bowed front central frieze drawer which is flanked by two smaller well figured mahogany rectangular drawers, the whole raised on square tapering supports terminating in brass castor's. This desk also benefits from being polished all around the back and can be freestanding and has beautiful ebony line inlaid detail throughout.  The quality of this desk is superb throughout as you would expect from the renown cabinet makers Shapland & Petter Of Barnstaple circa 1900-1910

Condition: This desk is in excellent original condition, scuffs and marks consistent with age and use, stamped S & P, B to all the locks, fully cleaned and waxed
