A beautiful Late 19th Century French Cylinder Bureau De Dame In The Vernis martin Style. The upper section with a rouge flecked marble top within a pierced 3/4 ormolu gallery, above a central arched door painted with lovers in a rural setting, flanked by fluted columns and bevelled mirrored panels. All above five graduated drawers painted with trailing foliate, the lower cylinder section finely painted with lovers and a chaperone in a palladian setting, which opens to reveal a sliding lined writing surface, three drawers and pigeon holes. All above one long drawer, the whole raised on fluted tapering cylindrical supports and all embellished with ormolu mouldings of the highest quality circa 1870-1880 Condition: This bureau De dame is in excellent original condition, fully cleaned and waxed. Minor wear to the painted panel of the cylinder front
