A Very Fine Victorian Kingwood and Tulip wood Credenza By G.Morant Of London. The mirrored arched superstructure with a shaped shelf above a projecting serpentine base. Centred by a glazed door enclosing a shelved interior and flanked by curving open shelves, backed by mirrors. The exotic woods finely cross banded and strung in boxwood, profusely mounted with ormolu, finely cast with trailing ribbons, flower heads, acanthus scrolls and sabots. Stamped G.Morant to the reverse circa 1860-1870

Condition: This credenza is in excellent original condition, fully cleaned and waxed. Minor speckling to the mirror back

Morant & Co business was founded by George Morant and continued by his son George John Morant which lasted more than 100 years and traded from New Bond Street, London from 1809-1915
