A Most Unusual Late 19th Century Bronzed Spelter Clock Garniture C1880

Clock Piece 31" high, 2 x figures 23" high

A most unusual Late 19th Century continental  bronzed spelter clock garniture. The clock surmounted by a fisherman wielding a harpoon from the bow of a sailboat, above the enamelled face inscribed with Arabic numerals and with a plaque inscribed "Cod Fishing". Flanked by a pair of figures entitled "Distress", a lady holding a net and harpoon anxiously waving and "Rescue" a lifeboat man with a life belt and rope, each raised on the original ebonised turned wooded bases circa 1880

Condition: This clock garniture is in excellent original condition, fully cleaned and waxed
