A Large Victorian Period Oak Coopered Tub/Log Box C1880

31" wide x 22.5" deep x 22" high

A large Victorian Period oak coopered tub/log box of oval form. The carcase in oak with steel coopered banding and four original steel carrying handles, manufactured by James Eastwood & Co of Preston. This Victorian oak tub would be ideal for use as a log box, retaining its original brass bung and would formally have been used in the brewing trade we think, but are unsure. There is a hole in the bottom at the back which we presume would be for drainage circa 1880

Condition: This log box is in excellent original condition, a wonderful colour and patination
