A good George III Period oak house keepers/livery cupboard. The upper section having a moulded flared cornice with mahogany cross banded detail, above twin fielded panel doors, each with an oval inlaid paterae, chequer band inlaid detail and cross banded in mahogany. The larger of the paterae having a thistle inlaid motif indicating that this piece could possibly be Scottish. Retaining the original brass "H" hinges. Internally the cupboard retains the original wooden hooks with some later Victorian or Edwardian brass hooks. The lower section having an arrangement of four "dummy" drawers and four real oak drawers. The drawer fronts are cross banded in mahogany and with feather cross banded detail, retaining their original brass swan neck handles, the dummy drawers allow for things to hang internally.
