A polychrome antique grandmother clock, having a steel engraved dial with Roman numerals and cherub spandrels and with a high quality German spring movement striking on the quarter, half, quarter to and on the hour. Inscribed by the maker Penlington and Batty of Liverpool, with a further plaque to the inside of the door to say that it was a wedding gift in 1933 (see pictures). The case is made from solid oak and decorated with hand painted trailing floral garlands and various baskets and vases of flowers. The trunk door with block moulded detail and spiral turned twist columns, raised on splayed bracket feet circa 1933 Condition: This clock is in excellent original condition throughout.
