A pair of Late Victorian highland cattle paintings by Robert Watson. One depicting highland sheep amounst heather with a mountainous backdrop. The other depicting cattle watering by a loch again with a mountainous backdrop, both signed and dated Robert Watson 1900. Housed in later double swept giltwood frames.
Condition: These paintings are in excellent condition
Robert Watson was born in 1865 and lived in Southport, Lancashire and one of a family of highland scene painters. Watson exhibited in Glasgow and Liverpool, despite the high quality of his work he never made the journey down to London to exhibit there. His work was always of excellent quality with superb detail and a delicate and sensitive palette.
