A stunning quality Louis XVI Style mahogany & ormolu mounted vitrine/display cabinet. The solid mahogany top having a raised ormolu trellis gallery above a central rectangular oak lined concealed drawer. (The drawer is released via a "secret" spring load action which is inside the cabinet). The drawer front having finely cast floral ormolu moulding and flanked by quarter fluted columns again with exquisitely cast ormolu mounts to the top and bottom. Each end also with bevelled glass and finely cast ormolu mouldings and mounts. Raised on turned and fluted turned feet again with cast ormolu mounts. Although apparently un-marked this vitrine is undoubtedly made by one of the premier French cabinet makers of this period e.g Henry Dasson. French circa 1890-1900
Condition: This cabinet is made from the finest mahogany and all the ormolu is finely cast and has been removed, professionally re-gilded and replaced and the cabinet has been re-polished in our workshops. The shelves have been re-lined in water marked silk.
