An Edwardian Period Mahogany Chippendale Revival Antique Bureau Bookcase C1900-1910

90" high x 32.5" wide x 9.5" deep at top 19" deep at bottom (writing surface 30" high)

An Edwardian Period Mahogany Chippendale Revival Antique Bureau Bookcase. The upper section having a broken and pierced swan neck pediment centred by a turned mahogany urn finial and with an applied carved rosette. The frieze having Greek key moulding and applied teardrop mouldings. The doors having cencentric glazing bars which are individually putted in, as they would have been in the 18th Century. The lower bureau section having a mahogany veneered fall front which opens to reveal a beautiful stepped fitted interior, with a central mirrored door, flanked by corinthium columns (Secret drawers), with further pigeon holes and drawers at each side. Retaining the original baize lined writing surface and having four graduating rectangular drawers all oak lined, with typical Chippendale Style cast brass handles. The ends in solid mahogany with quarter reeded Corinthium columns, the whole raised on shaped ogee bracket feet. English circa 1900-1910

Condition: This bureau bookcase is in excellent original condition, cleaned and waxed
