An Early Victorian Period Rosewood Secretaire Wellington Chest C1850

24" wide x 17" deep x 51" high

 An Early Victorian Period Rosewood secretaire wellington chest. Having a stepped rectangular rosewood veneered top above an arrangement of six mahogany lined drawers. One "double" drawer opening to reveal the well fitted secretaire writing interior with the original red Moroccan leather writing surface. The chest flanked by twin rosewood pilasters with carved corbals, the right hand pilaster hinged and acting as the usual "wellington" locking mechanism. The sides veneered in beautifully figured rosewood, raised on a rosewood veneered plinth, English circa 1850

Condition: This wellington chest is in stunning condiiton, cleaned and waxed, wear to the leather commensurate with age and use
