A stunning quality Edwardian Period mahogany breakfront bookcase. The upper section having a raised breakfront central section with dentil moulded cornice and having a central rectangular astragal glazed door, opening to reveal a mahogany shelved interior, flanked by similarly astragal glazed end doors again with mahogany shelved interiors. The lower section again of breakfront outline and with a beautifully figured solid mahogany top with three rectangular mahogany lined frieze drawers with beautifully cast Robert Adam designed oval brass handles and having four mahogany inlaid doors with internal mahogany shelving. The whole raised on a solid mahogany plinth. The quality of this bookcase is superb in every aspect of its construction and the choice of timber, craftsmanship etc would lead us to believe that this was made by one of the premier cabinet makers of the period such as Gillows or Maple & Co.
