A William IV Period Rosewood Antique Davenport C1830-1840

22" wide x 24" deep x 32" high (23" high to knee hole)

 A William IV Period Rosewood Antique davenport of traditional davenport design and having a brass galleried back above the sloping front. With a green gilt and blind tooled leather writing surface and opening to reveal four interior birds eye maple veneered drawers with turned ebony handles and the top sliding forward with a hinged rectangular pen drawer. The rosewood front with carved anthemion detail, the right hand side having four rectangular mahogany lined drawers retaining their original turned rosewood drawer pulls. The left hand side having four dummy drawers. With a rosewood panelled back having further carved anthemions, the whole raised on a rosewood veneered plinth English circa 1830-1840

Condition: This davenport is in excellent condition , cleaned and waxed. Some minor stress cracks to the rear veneers which are not detrimental. Replacement leather writing surface.
