An Edwardian Period Marquetry inlaid antique writing desk. The super structure having a brass balustrade gallery and central serpentine shelf, flanked by twin curved mahogany compartments fitted for stationery & inkwells etc. each with beautiful foliate and pen-work decoration and a mahogany lined drawer. The solid mahogany top having an inset "T" shaped green leather writing surface with gilt and blind tooled detail. Having an arrangement of five oak lined rectangular drawers again with exquisite foliate marquetry and pen-work detail and with delicate oval backplate handles. Raised on square tapering supports with brass and porcelain castors. Although un-marked this desk is probably by Maple & Co of London.
