An Arts & Crafts Period Oak Desk By Shapland & Petter Of Barnstaple C1900

41" high x 48" wide x 27" deep (knee hole 18" wide x 23" high)

 An Arts & Crafts Period oak desk by Shapland & Petter Of Barnstaple. The raised back having a typical Shapland & Petter heart shaped pierced gallery, shelves and rectangular oak lined drawers. The solid oak top with a red leather writing surface with Greek key blind tooling, above an arrangement of nine rectangular oak lined drawers.  Each drawer with panelled front, patinated copper handles and escutcheons and brass locks that are stamped S,P & B. The whole raised on eight square tapering supports with brass and porcelain castors. Constructed using the finest quarter sawn oak throughout as you would expect from ths fine cabinet maker from the Arts & Crafts Period. English circa 1900
