A Stunning Quality 19th Century Louis XV Style Boulle Centre Table C1860

55" wide x 34" deep x 28" high

 A stunning quality 19th Century Louis XV style boulle centre table. The shaped top having a fantastic red tortoiseshell and boulle inlaid panel with an ebonised border and ormolu beaded edge. The table is decorated to the front, sides and reverse with fine boulle work and having a central mahogany lined frieze drawer. Raised on fine boulle work cabriole supports with figural ormolu mounts. French circa 1860

Condition: This table is in stunning condition 


André-Charles Boulle (11 November 1642 – 28 February 1732) was the French cabinet maker who is generally considered to be the preeminent artist in the field of marquetry, even "the most remarkable of all French cabinetmakers." His fame in marquetry led to his name being given to the fashion he perfected of inlaying brass and tortoiseshell, known as Boulle
