A Meiji Period Japanese carved shodana with gold lacquer onlaid panels. Having a typical Oriental carved cornice above the cabinet section, featuring an arrangement of sliding doors, cupboards and drawers, each with gold lacquer panels and onlaid bone and mother of pearl inlaid detail. Having carved and pierced fretwork sides, the whole raised on a shaped base. Japan circa 1900
Condition: This cabinet is in excellent original condition, minor rubbing to the gold lacquer.
