An exhibition quality burr walnut, purple heart and kingwood ormolu mounted antique pier cabinet. The rectangular top veneered in beautifully figured burr walnut with purple heart and sycamore banding above the rectangular frieze which has three classical wedgwood plaques. The central rectangular glazed door opens to reveal three glass shelves and a mirrored back. The door with ormolu mouldings and appliqués inlaid in exotic veneers. The canted corners with fine quality rams head mounts and also veneered in exotic veneers which is repeated on the glazed ends and plinth. The whole raised on four turned ebonised bun feet, un-marked but undoubtedly made by one of the premier cabinet makers like Gillows of Lancaster or Holland & Co.
