A George III Period Oak Lancashire Mule/Dower Chest C1780-1800

65" wide x 22" deep x 34" high

 A George III Period oak Lancashire mule/dower chest. Having a three plank oak hinged top opening to reveal a storage area, above an arrangement of nine oak drawer fronts each cross banded in mahogany with the original brass handles and escutcheons. Six of the drawers are "dummy" drawers and the bottom three have oak linings. Having reeded quarter corinthian columns and panelled ends, the whole raised on shaped bracket feet. English circa 1780-1800

Condition: This chest is in wonderful condition, hand waxed in our workshop. A fabulous colour and patination
