An exhibition quality pair of Victorian Period rosewood, ivory & silver inlaid armchairs. Each with a shaped top rail with pierced floral detail and the finest ivory and pen-work detail and fine silver inlaid roundels. With padded backs, rolled arms and sprung seats, upholstered in red water marked silk with further ivory inlaid detail to the arms. Raised on square tapering front supports with spade feet and brass cup castors. Solid rosewood throughout, the finest quality and craftsmanship, possibly made by Gillows or Collinson & Lock. English circa 1885-1890
Condition: This pair of chairs are in wonderful condition, some wear to the arms. Probably re-upholstered about 20-30 years ago.
