A Stunning Walnut Library Table by Howard & Sons. The rectangular top having an inset leather writing surface with blind and gilt tooled decoration and being cross banded in Burr Walnut. The writing table is freestanding and having two working drawers, one of which is stamped by the maker and each having the original working brass locks, the opposite side having two "dummy drawers" with turned walnut pulls, the base having quadruple turned and carved spiral twist legs, supported by walnut chamfered supports united by a similar turned twist stretcher. This desk is stunning quality throughout as you would expect from this renowned London cabinet maker circa 1870-1880
