A Superb quality Regency Period mahogany secretaire bookcase probably by Gillows of Lancaster, the upper section having a moulded mahogany flame veneered cornice above twin glazed doors enclosing an adjustable shelved interior, the lower section having a fitted secretaire fall front top drawer and a further three graduated drawers with later oval stamped backplate handles, raised on beautifully turned melon feet, many characteristics of this bookcase ie: the quality of timber used, the glazing pattern, the moulded detail to the secretaire drawer and the typical "Gillows" melon feet would lead us to believe that this is almost certainly made by Gillows of Lancaster although it is not marked circa 1820-1830 Condition: This bookcase is in excellent condition, the handles have been replaced and the baize interior, a stunning quality bookcase
