An early Victorian oak antique partners desk by Gillows Of Lancaster. The rectangular solid oak top having an inset olive green gilt and blind tooled leather writing surface. The twin pedestals each having four mahogany lined graduated drawers, each retaining the original ebony turned drawer pulls. The pedestals each having unusual "wellington" style locking pilasters with concealed keyholes. The desk is fitted throughout with "Bramah" locks, the finest quality locks available. The reverse of the desk having conforming left and right opening panelled doors opening to reveal shelved interiors, the whole raised on a solid oak moulded plinth, stamped Gillow to a drawer circa 1850 Condition: This desk is in stunning restored condition, replacement leather hide.
